The Simpsons
Come here for the latest info on the Simpsons.
Fox brought along a new era of television viewing with its series of animated cartoons for adults including the family guy, Futurama, Simpsons, and south park. These politically incorrect, volatile and out of the box shows which spare none when it comes to pulling down pants have generated an unparalleled fan base in the American crowd. They depict life as it is without any sugar coats or laces. The average middle class American life in all its glory and flaws are laid out straight in front of the audience. The fun moments only make the mood better and leave the audiences craving for more.
FOX cartoon series have been the subject of controversy; most notably, The Simpsons and Family Guy, for their approach to comedy and for the coarse language and jokes that some have said are too raunchy for network TV. These shows have been some of the most risqué material aired on FOX. Fox has also been accused by some groups of corrupting children with cartoons ostensibly for teens and adults. In Venezuela, The Simpsons and “Family Guy” has been taken off the air due to its content. In Russia, Family Guy and The Simpsons were subject to lawsuits regarding their content, although in Russia other animated series like South Park were more controversial.
No matter how many controversies they face and how many soups they land up into, these shows have the potential to induce guffaws in grown ups. These are often a lot of sexual insinuations and references in these shows. Sometimes they are subtle and sometimes they turn out to be overt. There is also plenty of slapstick/violence, crude language, tongue in cheek humor and their language used is frequented with words like “damn,” “hell,” “bitch,” and “ass”. They have black comedy, slapstick, off color humor, self- deprecation and surreal humor, but they focus mainly on the satirical depiction of everyday life. Ofcourse, these shows can not be watched with kids but that is the very reason which makes them more fun for adults. Lets go through a short synopsis of these shows.
Family Guy revolves around the life of Griffins, which is a dysfunctional family. This hilarious, abnormal and politically incorrect show centers on the adventures of the lovable oaf Peter Griffin his wife Lois and their three kids. Futurama on the other hand is an American animated science fiction sitcom created by Matt Groening who also created the famous show Simpsons. It is based upon the adventures of a late 20th-century New York City pizza delivery boy, Philip J. Fry, who, after being unwittingly cryogenically frozen for one thousand years, finds employment at Planet Express, an interplanetary delivery company in the retro-futuristic31st century. The Simpsons require little introduction. The series is a satirical parody of a middle class American Lifestyle epitomized by the Simpsons. Living in the fictional town of Springfield, the loving family is made up of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Finally, South Park features four foul-mouthed 3rd graders, Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman. These four little fourth graders live in one messed up town. From talking poo to un-dead celebrities, to a mystical land of imagination, they see it all.
